Calling all fun-seeking, energetic people of all ages!  Do you have what it takes to join the 2008 Blue Ridge BBQ & Music Festival Volunteer Team?  If your idea of volunteering includes smelling the aroma of mouth watering barbeque,  listening to non-stop music and meeting the greatest barbeque lovers in the south then this job is for you. The role of the volunteer is one of  the most valuable assets to the festival.

Without the help of over 500 volunteers, the festival would not go on. There are hundreds of people that volunteer year after year, who declare this is the event of the year. In fact, the 2008 Blue Ridge BBQ & Music Festival has been named one of the Southeast Tourism Society’s Top 20 Events for June, 2008.

BBQ Festival information

Volunteering is fun. . .

The opportunities to volunteer are as diverse as the fun and flavorful things there are to experience at the festival. There are many areas in which to share your talents including ticket sales, operations, merchandise sales, parking, bingo, beverage services, recycling, volunteer check-in, sponsor tent, crafts, finance, and entertainment. Volunteering includes four hour shifts during the two day festival, as well as  set-up and clean-up the days surrounding the event. When choosing an area to volunteer, please consider  your physical limitations (standing for long periods of time/heat exposure/ability to lift) and money handling skills.  We try to match each volunteer with a job that they feel most comfortable performing. If you need more detail on the different volunteer positions, please contact the office at 828-859-7427. As a thank you to our volunteers, they will receive a t-shirt, free admission both days, Tabb Tickets and a parking pass.

Be a part of the year ’round team...

If you would like to become more involved in this fantastic fund-raising event and see your efforts benefitting the whole Polk County community, we would like to invite you to apply to become part of the Festival Committee. The areas of responsibility are diverse—what are your interests? These areas include finance, entertainment, hospitality, recycling, parking, operations, crafts, bingo tent, sponsorship, volunteers, security, merchandise, administration, competition, vendors, publicity, and our Going Green initiative. Initially you would learn the responsibilities of the committee chairpersons, and become ready to step onto the steering committee should the need arise.
